Secondary

Students who graduate from our Primary Section after Year Six have automatic admission into the Secondary Section. Applicants from other schools are asked to take an admissions test.

From the beginning of the Secondary school, students choose to follow a British or American Curriculum. The British section offers a curriculum based on the Key Stage Three curriculum of England, whilst the American section provides a foundation for the American High School Diploma program in the form of a traditional Middle School program.

The teaching approach in both sections is varied and includes pairwork and groupwork, discussion, research and problem-solving. Students are challenged by the rigour of the curriculum, whilst at the same time, they are enthused by lesson delivery which aims to stimulate and engage.

Our teachers are highly qualified and the school is committed to their ongoing professional development and training so that they can keep abreast of curriculum developments in England and the USA. Modern English School Cairo also ensures that teachers delivering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme are thoroughly supported by an established commitment to training opportunities.
